Talentedge SEO Case Study

As a recruitment consultancy, Talentedge focuses exclusively on roles in Finance, Strategy, and C-Suite executive roles. However after shifting from .co.uk WordPress platform to a .pro domain on Webflow the site encountered severe visibility issues— its homepage and key service pages were not appearing in Google search results, even for branded searches.

When we began working on the project (1 May 2025), the site was struggling with low domain authority, several technical issues, duplicate metadata and indexing challenges. Our goal was to resolve the technical issues, optimize on-page content, implement structured data, and build authority through strategic link building and content optimization.

Over a 3-month period (May-July 2025), we resolved critical technical issues, improved site structure, optimized blogs and developed a strong backlink profile. Despite strong improvements in traffic, impressions, and site authority, a domain-level indexing problem prevented the website from achieving full visibility for its brand name.

Initial Challenges

Our detailed SEO audit (May 2025) revealed a combination of technical, structural, and content issues that held back Talentedge’s online visibility:

  1. Duplicate MetadataTitle tags and meta descriptions repeated across multiple pages.
  2. Content IssuesLow word count pages, duplicate content, and thin job/case study pages.
  3. Technical Errors
    • 4XX code errors across multiple pages.
    • JavaScript & CSS files unminified.
    • Missing robots.txt file.
    • Multiple H1 tags per page.
    • Low HTML-to-text ratio.
  4. On-Page Optimization IssuesMissing or overly long titles & descriptions, short title tags, poor keyword optimization.
  5. Internal Linking ErrorsWeak interconnection between service, case study, and blog pages.
Impact:

Due to these errors, Talentedge’s new domain struggled to:

  • Rank for branded searches (“Talentedge Recruitment”, “Talentedge Finance”).
  • Gain visibility for service-related and high-intent job search queries.
  • Establish authority within the recruitment sector.

A critical challenge was that neither homepage nor key service pages ranked with top 100 search results pages for the brand name itself. This means that users search significantly for "Talentedge" couldn't find the site, drastically reducing its discoverability.

SEO Strategy & Implementation

Technical Fixes

We prioritized resolving technical issues to strengthen crawlability and site health:

  • Duplicate Metadata Resolution: Fixed duplicate meta tags and descriptions.
  • Heading Structure Correction: Corrected multiple H1 tag errors.
  • Robots.txt Implementation: Created and implemented robots.txt file.
  • JavaScript & CSS Optimization: Optimized JavaScript & CSS by minifying large files.
  • Error Fixing: Fixed 4XX errors and broken internal links.
  • HTML Ratio Improvement : Improved HTML-to-text ratio across low-content pages.
  • Canonicalization & Sitemap : Added proper canonicalization and sitemap submissions.

On-Page Optimization

  • Metadata Optimization: Updated and optimized meta titles & descriptions across 50+ job and case study pages.
  • Keyword-Focused Metadata: Rewrote missing/short metadata with keyword-focused, intent-driven text.
  • Content & Internal Linking: Improved content structure and internal linking across insights, case studies, and service pages.
  • Homepage Optimization: Optimized homepage with keywords like “Talentedge Recruitment” and “Finance Recruitment Experts”.
  • Content Expansion: Increased word count and keyword density on low-content pages.

Content Optimization & Schema Integration

  • Blog Optimization: Optimized and uploaded new blog posts on finance, AI, hybrid work, and recruitment.
  • Integrated structured data schemas:
    1. Organization & Website schema.
    2. Breadcrumb schema for navigational pages.
    3. Article schema for blogs and case studies.
  • Indexing Improvements: Submitted sitemaps and requested reindexing of crawled-but-not-indexed URLs.

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

  • Backlink Acquisition: Built high-quality backlinks via business listings, profiles, Web 2.0 blogs, and guest posting.
  • Backlink Audit & Disavow: Conducted backlink audit & disavow to reduce spam score from 44% to 1%.
  • Referral Traffic Growth: Answered Quora Q&As and created citations to boost referral traffic.

Key Learnings

  1. Technical SEO is foundational Fixing duplicate tags, missing metadata, crawlability issues, and unminified resources significantly improved the site’s health score and performance.
  2. Content & Metadata matterOptimized titles, descriptions, and keyword-driven content boosted impressions and clicks, showing that even small refinements create measurable results.
  3. Local & Global visibility Consistent growth across multiple countries (UK, US, Ireland, Netherlands, India, China, Germany) proved that international SEO opportunities were unlocked.
  4. Domain-level issues can override SEO winsDespite technical and strategic improvements, the domain problem prevented Talentedge from ranking for its own brand name. This was the single biggest limitation in achieving desired results.
  5. Local SEO GapsFor a local healthcare provider with multiple locations, Camelback Spine Care site's showed clear gap in local SEO. Provider details were not fully optimized, and no-location-specific pages or content to strengthen local visibility. This made it difficult for the clinic to rank for high-intent local searches like "spine surgeon in Phoenix".
  6. Sustainable growth takes layered workAuthority score, referral domains, and organic users showed steady progress, laying the groundwork for long-term visibility once the domain issue is resolved.

Performance Outcomes:

These results validated the effectiveness of the SEO strategy, though the domain-level issue still limited overall visibility for branded searches.

Conclusion:

Over a three-month period, Talentedge achieved measurable improvements in technical SEO, site's health, domain authority, impressions, clicks and organic traffic. We eliminated duplicate metadata, content gaps, fixed crawlability and indexing issues, and elevated performance scores to excellent levels on both mobile and desktop. These combined efforts greatly enhanced the brand’s visibility and user engagement worldwide.

Despite the progress made, a significant challenge remain unresolved: the homepage and key service pages were still not ranking in Google's Top 100 results for branded searches. Even after several troubleshooting attempts and direct discussion with Webflow's support team, the issue stayed unresolved, with no workable fix available.

This case shows that even strong SEO work can't fully overcome domain-level problems. Until the core domain issue if fixed, Talentedge's brand visibility will remain restricted, even though the SEO groundwork has built a solid foundation for future growth.
